Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney: I was wrong to swear
Publish piece of newsManchester United striker Wayne Rooney: I was wrong to swear PIECE OF NEWS
BackManchester United striker Wayne Rooney has apologised for using offensive language after scoring against West Ham United.
The England international proceeded to swear into a camera after netting a hat-trick in the match, which ended 4-2 after United went 2-0 down.
The 25-year-old has since been slapped with a two-match ban, and he will miss the upcoming FA Cup semi-final against arch-rivals Manchester City.
"With the swearing incident, I didn’t realise what I’d done," Rooney told talkSPORT.
"It was just emotions, it was a release if you like of scoring the three goals to get us back in the game.
"As soon as I realised after the game I apologised as soon as I could. Of course it was wrong of me to do but I accept my punishment and you just have to move on. Hopefully the boys can pull through for me on Saturday and get to that FA Cup final."
