No other club can compare to Manchester United - Federico Macheda

Federico Macheda is delighted to be back at Manchester United after spending the second half of last season on loan at Sampdoria and says "nothing can compare" to the English club.

The 19-year-old Italian striker had a tough time back in his homeland as Sampdoria suffered a shock relegation, and says he always wanted to come back to Old Trafford.

After scoring twice in a pre-season match against New England Revolution, Macheda told Sky Sports News: “I'm very happy because I had a difficult six months last season, so it's good to start well this season.

“I couldn't wait to get back here when I was in Italy, even though it's my country.

“Nothing can compare to Manchester United, so I'm really happy to get back here, and I hope to stay.”

Signed in 2007 from Lazio, Macheda caught the eyes of Premier League fans at the end of the 2008-09 season, when he emerged to score crucial goals against Aston Villa and Sunderland to help United pip Liverpool to the title.

But he failed to break into the first team and was loaned out to Sampdoria, where he scored just one goal in 16 appearances.
