Simoncelli dies

The Italian rider Marco Simoncelli, 24, died after a serious accident in the beginning of the Malaysian Grand Prix MotoGP, which was canceled after the incident.

Marco Simoncelli was down in a curve at the start of the race and was hit by Colin Edwards. The blow was very strong and even his helmet flew off. The Italian went limp on the asphalt and was treated at the clinic of the Sepang circuit.

Given the seriousness of the accident, Simoncelli was airlifted to a hospital where he arrived in cardiac arrest and later died.
