"Stop Wayne Rooney and Milan Beat Manchester United" Giuseppe Pancaro

As 80,000 fans prepare to fill the San Siro tonight, former Milan defender Giuseppe Pancaro has issued the team with a warning against Manchester United - stop Wayne Rooney or face annihilation.

Rooney is seen as the ultimate threat to Milan's chances of progression in the Champions League, but Pancaro feels the striker can be shackled.

"English teams fight to the finish and they never give up, and Wayne Rooney is a great player," Pancaro told Tuttomercatoweb.com. He is strong and fast, but I think he will have it tough against [Alessandro] Nesta. Nesta and Thiago Silva can stop any top striker in the world."

Milan are aiming to win their eighth European Cup, and they can do it with the help of Brazilian duo Alexandre Pato and Ronaldinho.

"The Champions League is the principal objective for Milan. They have this in their DNA. They need to put their faith in Ronaldinho as his combinations with Pato can make Milan unbeatable," he concluded.
