'Little Pea' is the nickname for Javier Hernandez and he has certainly popped to the top with Manchester United - scoring 20 goals in this his debut season.

The Mexican will spearhead United's attack in Saturday's Champions League final at Wembley.

Ferguson said: "Hernandez has been the sensation of the season. We've used him the right way, I feel, and at the right times.

"He went from being a sub or being left out for some games to eventually being a regular player.

"Javier has scored 20 goals this season which is a great return for him considering it's his first season and shows the progress he's made.

"He's developed his strength through his own volition to make sure he was in every morning doing his core work.

"That has brought great rewards in terms of his upper body strength. It helps him handle the rigours of the English Premier League."

The bargain £6million buy from Mexican club Chivas has built up an incredible on-pitch understanding with Wayne Rooney - and one which could cause Barca problems.

Ferguson added: "It's about finding a solution to the game. It's not just about Barcelona, it's about us too - what's best for us and the best way of winning the match. It will be down to how we operate the attacking part."

Ferguson has also warned that his players' concentration must not slip as he believes it did in the final between the two teams in 2009 which Barcelona won 2-0 in Rome.

The United boss said: "When we lost the first goal it was after that sudden lapse of concentration in terms of regrouping after we'd lost the ball. That's what cost us really.

"So the concentration is going to be very important on Saturday."
